Final Drills

Shae shakes her head. "There's nothing to apologize for, we all did our parts. Mine just happens to be at the front, with my shield."

"And mine isn't," Reimi remarks. "But I should be able to help keep some heat off the rest of the squad."

"You're the sniper. Its our job to keep things off of you so you can get clear shots. Not the other way around." Shae says, getting agreements from Graal and Barrow.

"I'm also an engineer..." Reimi starts, before realizing it meant the same; engineers weren't front line fighters, and were protected by the rest of their squad. "I guess you're right..."

"As is Barrow, so Graal and I take point and draw fire." Shae says with a nod to the krogan.

"We'll take point, you hit them hard." Graal says with a gruff laugh.

"I'll do my best," Reimi replies. Sniper rifles could do tremendous damage from a very long range, though in a lot of situations, she'd have to rely more on her tech abilities and assault rifle.

"We already are the best now, aren't we? We made N7 rank." Graal laughs. The human rank would make little difference to other Krogan, but he was impressed by it; and the work it took to pull it off.

"Well, we did the mission," Reimi remarks. "We haven't been promoted yet, though."

"I'm sure that will be taken care of once we return to Rio. Officially anyway, the corporal did already welcome us to N7." Shae offers, sitting down with the others.

"I guess she did," Reimi remarks, thinking back on the conversation. She'd honestly been more wrapped up in the report than the extras. "I guess that means future missions will be even more challenging..."

"I imagine so, but we'll just have to wait and see what comes next." Shae answers.

"Though some of the missions may be trivial for us, but too difficult to send anyone else for." Barrow adds.

"That's just what N7 is, I guess," Reimi remarks.

"We'll just have to wait and see. We may not even be on the same team, going forward." Shae says.

The rest of the trip back to Earth passed quickly, leaving clean up to the other team now that the rebels had been dealt with. The ship brought them back to the facility on Rio; where they were told to meet with the general.

That they were to meet with someone as high ranking as a general intimidated Reimi; the mission had been assigned by a corporal, and she'd honestly expected to debrief with someone ranked no higher than that.

General Addams and Lieutenant Svenko were both waiting in the briefing room when Delta team arrived.

"Splendid work on Ganymede, the intel and supplies will be put to good use." Svenko says, in her accented voice. "We have people going through the uploads already."

"You have all earned the N7 designation. Congratulations Delta Team, and welcome to the best of the best in the human military." Addams offers.

"Thank you, General," Reimi replies, saluting and holding it.

Addams nods as Barrow too saluted the General, though Shae and Graal did not. "At ease. Now, we do not currently have a mission for you, but, do you wish to remain as a team, or split you up to join other N7 agents?" he asks, looking to the four of them; raising a hand to signal that the salutes could stop.

Reimi held the salute until instructed to be at ease. She still stood at attention, though cupped her hands behind her back in a more traditional military pose. The four of them hadn't discussed breaking up, so she was caught a bit off guard.

"I'm fine staying as a team if everyone else is, I guess, sir," she replies, knowing she'd look foolish if someone did opt to bow out.

"I thought we performed well as a team, for our first mission together. I see little reason to split up." Barrow replies.

"Krogan aren't known for getting along, but we did alright." Graal adds gruffly.

"I'm inclined to agree. We worked well as a team, would be a shame to split up now and have to start all over." Shae agrees.

"Since you're all in agreement, Delta Team shall remain as it is." Addams says with a nod. "Dismissed, but be on your toes. A mission could come down anytime."

"Thank you, sir," Reimi replies, snapping to another quick salute before departing as instructed. "We actually did it..." she remarks, once the squad was out of the office. "We're N7."

"The best of the best that the Alliance has to offer." Shae says with a nod, "And admittedly, it was more intensive than anything I've done as a Huntress."

"No Thresher Maws though, so its hard to compare it with the Proving we Krogan do on Tuchanka." Graal adds.

"But don't you just have to survive the Thresher Maw?" Reimi asks. "Rumor is most don't kill the Maw..."

"Ha! That's true, but surviving it is often harder than just killing the thing." Graal guffaws with a gruff laugh. "All depends what kind of Maw shows up too. Sometimes you get a juvenile one, its not so bad. Its the older ones you gotta be careful of."

"But one always shows up?" Reimi asks. "That seems... unusual."

Graal shakes his head. "Well, they don't just show up. They're summoned by the pounding the of the giant hammer, along with the other creatures of Tuchanka. More surprising that only one Thresher Maw appears."
