Final Drills

"They were doing something with an old ship," Reimi explains. "Any ideas? It was in pieces in an underground room like this."

"No idea, though we did see a ship coming down shortly before the Geth. It showed up on our radar." the krogan answers, "Assume that was you we picked up not too long ago."

"So it sounds like the Geth followed someone..." Reimi surmises. Using her omnitool, she attempted to get into the pirate's system, to try to find what information she could find about the ship that came down before the Geth.

The pirate's systems weren't well protected, making them easy to infiltrate with an omnitool. There wasn't a lot of information about the ship, just a radar reading, time and location of where it went down. From the looks of things, the Geth arrived shortly after, within an hour, and no other arrivals before their own.

"The Geth arrived within an hour," Reimi remarks, getting out of the pirate system. "Their scanners didn't really pick anything else up, so all the clues still lie within the debris... if there's any."

"Which just leaves dealing with the pirates so we can get back to the ship." Shae says, keeping her pistol trained on the krogan. "Think you can get the others to surrender?"

"Not likely." the Krogan answers, chuckling.

"We'll have to take you back to our ship," Reimi indicates.

"Yeah, I figured. Whatever." the Krogan answers, Graal pulling him up to his feet.

"How are we doing this?" Graal asks, "We can't just leave him alone in the kodiak while we clear the others out."

"We'll have to transport him back to the ship and come back," Reimi replies. "Don't really have much other choice..."

"Too much time. I'll watch him, you three go deeper." Graal says, "Only thing that'll stop a Krogan is another Krogan. N7 or not."

"Hopefully the three of us can handle the rest, then..." Reimi remarks. "Everyone else ready?"

"Should be fine, as long as they don't have anymore Krogan hiding around." Shae says, looking to the pirate, but he remained silent. "If they won't surrender, we'll just have to take them out. Can't have pirates and merc bands running about unchecked, even on the fringes."

"Alright then, let's go," Reimi remarks, taking a deep breath. She wasn't sure going with just the three of them was a good idea, but they didn't really have much choice in the end.

"I'll take point." Shae says, bracing her gun hand on the wrist of her other arm; sword held before her. With no help from the captive krogan regarding numbers, they had to be careful progressing deeper into the compound. "Keep back and cover me, I'll draw any fire."

Without the aid of distance, Reimi had little choice but to remain with her Geth Pulse Rifle as weapon of choice.

Much like the krogan had said, there were more pirates deeper inside the underground complex, and they had little desire to surrender. Shae kept to the point, drawing fire to her as she moved in to engage; her barrier catching bullets when her Backlash was down. She kept pressure on, even when her own barrier was weakening, so Reimi and Barrow could go all out. Just over a dozen pirates down, they reached the end of the complex, a storehouse type room; full of weapons, armor and other goods.

Reimi was amazed at how well Shae was keeping the pressure off her and Barrow. The engineer still wasn't as effective against organic enemies as she would have been against synthetics, but she was doing what she could to keep the pressure on.
