Final Drills

"Maybe it was this... ship... they were scanning for?" Reimi suggests, though it was as much of a question as a statement. Being an engineer, the wreckage was something that certainly interested Reimi, though there could be dangers they had yet to find down here.

"Its in the right direction, and not far from the scanner." Shae agrees, moving closer to take a look at it. She picks up a piece, likely of the hull, to take to examine it. "Its Asari-made, or at least I'm pretty sure it is..."

"Geth hunting an Asari ship?" Reimi asks, not fully believing that. "And just scattered debris of one at that?"

"Maybe they were following it for some reason. They are way out of Geth space." Shae offers, setting the piece down. "Though why they were following it is another thing altogether."

"Following it and then brought pieces in here?" Reimi asks. "There's more to it than that..."

"Maybe there is something in the wreckage, or on the scanner, that would give more clues." Shae says, hoping for more answers herself. It was odd enough that the Geth were this far out of their space; perhaps something to do with the attack on Eden Prime as well.

"Maybe in time I could figure it out," Reimi remarks. "I'm still new at learning Geth code. As for the wreckage, do we have room to transport it back? I'm sure I could find some information from these pieces, or that device, if I had time at a lab to go over them."

"They'd fit in the Kodiak, but wouldn't be much room left once the four of us piled in." Barrow offers, looking over the pieces.

"Well, we could take them and maybe learn why the Geth were here," Reimi starts looking over the debris. "Or we could just move on, and never find that answer."

"We can drop the debris back at the ship, then continue on to find the pirates." Shae offers, knowing they'd be going back in the direction of the ship anyway to find the pirates. "Our main mission was to clear the Geth, but also to figure out what they were doing out here."

"Let's get things loaded up, then," Reimi remarks, starting to grab debris to transport back to their ride, seeing no point in delaying further.

With the decision made, Graal picked up the largest piece and started back up towards the Kodiak. Between the four of them, they were able to clear out the pieces and load them into the vehicle; they were mostly in tact, any small pieces had either been left behind by the Geth, or moved already.

Along with the debris, Reimi left behind her regular assault rifle and two of the Geth rifles she'd procured. The scanning device, while possibly of no benefit, also got squeezed in, since the code it contained could be useful for learning more about the AI-based enemy they were now having to deal with.

Once the Kodiak was loaded, Barrow drove them back to the ship to unload the debris and other equipment. The science team took it all in, beginning work on it right away. This let them head west, towards the pirates, to clear them out as well. The two buildings said to be occupied by the pirates were close to one another, meaning there could be trouble once they attacked the first one.

"This one won't be as easy," Reimi remarks, looking over what they were going to be getting into. "I can't just scan for readings and have an idea how many's there like with Geth."

"Geth don't react much to sound, but pirates certainly well. At the end of the day, the reaction is about the same whether the Geth are alerted through their network, or the pirates through the sound of gunshots." Graal says gruffly.

"Can bet there will be more than a handful of pirates though, between the two structures." Shae adds.

"Also probably won't find a humanoid able to take as many hits as that big Geth," Reimi remarks. "Same plan as before?"

"It worked well enough on the Geth, though these pirates might actually have scouts paying attention..." Shae says, looking towards the structures. "We could also use the Kodiak as a wall, if we drive it up closer, but they'll definitely notice that."

"Unfortunately, about all I have is guns..." Reimi remarks. "Can't exactly hijack a human. If they have shields I could drain them, but otherwise..."

"Gunfire will work as well as anything else, as long as they don't have a shield like mine." Shae says, looking to Reimi. "Its up to you. Would you rather hit them from a distance, or drive up to their doorstep into the thick of it?"

"I'm not sure driving up to their doorstep would be a good idea," Reimi remarks. "Which means guess I need to find a good sniper's roost..."

"Its pretty flat down in the valley, so you'd have sight lines from a distance. If you want any elevation though, you'd have to stay up here on the cliff." Barrow offers, taking a look around. Aside from a few outcroppings of rocks on the valley floor, there wasn't much to get in the way of a clean shot.

"I'd rather stay up here, but the cover's not very good," Reimi replies. "I'll need to get behind one of the outcroppings down there."

"Down out is then." Barrow answers, taking the Kodiak off the cliff and down into the valley. Much like with the approach to the Geth, he parked a distance away near an outcrop of rocks. "Find a spot, and we'll begin our advance." Shae offers, leaving the vehicle.

There was no perfect spot giving her an unobstructed view of what was to be the battlefield, but Reimi was able to find a decent spot fairly easily. Once again giving the team a moment to get ready, she let go with a shot, aiming at the head of who she thought was the most important person she could find.
